Working Titles

February 21st, 2012

The new Damien Jurado record is beautiful and the Richard Swift production fits him great. Love these lyrics a lot…

‘Working Titles’

You could mess up my life in a poem
Have me divorced by the time of the chorus
Theres no need to change any sentence
When you always decide where I go next

Many nights you would hide from the audience
When they were not in tune with your progress
In the end you are like the journalist
Who turns what you sing into business

Musical Heroes

December 27th, 2011

Billie Holiday and The Smiths, right?

So, this January i will pay tribute to some of my musical heroes for a theatre   programme that will take place at ‘De Kleine Komedie’ in Amsterdam. 5 Nights in a row i will sing songs of The Smiths and Billie Holiday. Two singers (among others actually) that were of a great influence to me. Thomas van Luyn, Sabrina Starke, Phatt, Faye Lovsky, Ruben Hein and Henk Hofstede (former The Nits) have also been asked to select the songs important to them and will also perform them. It’s gonna be fun!

Tuesday January 10th until Saturday January the 14th
@ De Kleine Komedie, Amsterdam

Boulevard of Broken Stekkers

August 10th, 2011

This Saturday we will play at two really fun festivals. First of we will play at the very cool Stekkerfest in Utrecht. We will share the Klub Radar stage with the lovely Eefje de Visser and her charming bandmate Jelte Heringa. Also playing later on are Fair Ohs, Too Many DJ’s, Tom Trago and much more. It’s gonna be a good party! We play at 16.00. Too bad we can’t stick around for the rest of the line up!

Then later on that day we will also play a show at the Boulevard Theater Festival in Den Bosch at 20.30 at the central square of the festival (in the big tent). It’s a ‘Twee Meter Sessie Reprise’ show! Jan Douwe Kroeske will show cool clips from the big ‘Twee Meter Sessies’ archive and after that we will play a session of our own. Lots of dutch people will remember these sessions from the programmes Jan Douwe Kroeske used to make for dutch television….he gave bands some real time and attention, ah the good old times. But for those that don’t know Jan Douwe is still recording cool sessions, like….check out this clip from Cloud Control…you see, Jan Douwe’s still got it!

See you yeah, maybe Saturday?

Page? NO! PIEN FEITH at De Parade

July 28th, 2011

Hi,

Tonight we will be playing at De Parade in Utrecht on the Orangerie Stage. A nice stage but with quite some sound limits, so we need to present you with somewhat of an alternative set. Tomorrow, we will also be playing at De Parade in Cafe Correct. We will then play the full-blown set!

On their website it says PAGE on the timetable, although don’t be fooled, this should have said PIEN FEITH!
